“Mesa Natives”

The pattern in this vessel is one of my favorites, shown throughout the works of the late Ray Allen. I have revisited Ray Allen's work frequently over the years, it has been an inspiration for me with respect to his incredible craftsmanship, but also his deep connection to the southwest that I share as well. I hope you will appreciate this truly classical design, and its connection to the American Southwest.

Brazilian Turquoise.jpg

“Brazilian Turquoise” - SOLD

This bowl is an example for my favorite designs, combining segmented woodwork with semi-precious stones, such as turquoise-blue Howlite. Some of the woods used are Brazilian Cherry, Bolivian Rosewood, Ivorywood, and Honey Mesquite. Blue-colored Howlite closely resembles Turquoise, and the mineral itself is often referred to as "white turquoise" or "white buffalo stone". In the context of crystal healing, Howlite is thought to have properties that help relieve stress, provide mental stability, and strengthen bones among other benefits.

“Butterflies”

This particular piece is one of my personal favorites. It features traditional southwestern patterns, and Native American designs ("Butterfly"). The main body is made from heavy Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba), The pattern contain African Padauk, Canadian Maple, Wenge, and various Maple veneers. This is a large piece, it has some significant weight, mainly due to the dense, and heavy Brazilian Cherry in the main body.

“NEW BEGINNINGS”

The vessel is one of my larger works of lately. After venturing out some with various larger wall art and sculpture projects I returned to my most personal designs. The vessel features 11 large turquoise inserts, all set individually into wooden casings. I used some of my favorite hardwoods, such as Katalox, Padauk, Picana, and Pecan with Maple veneer. The overall dimensions of the vessel are 13" wide and 15" tall. I personally think that collectors will appreciate the simple design, and the straight lines which give this vessel a modern contemporary and stylish appearance.

“Holding on…”

I worked on this vase during some challenging times we had here in Texas this spring. I thought it to be quite fitting for the occasion, and a time to remember to hold on the things close to us. The main body is made from Padauk, a red, African Hardwood, Wenge, and Honey Locus, with some added turquoise as accent. The center pattern represents an continuous, interlinked chain of red and dark wood, centered around a turquoise square. Approximately 16" tall, and 10" in diameter, this vase is colorful, decorative, and modern in style.
