AUSTIN GALLERIES

Austin Galleries was founded in 1964 by George and Ann Attal and is currently owned and operated by Ann. Since opening the gallery in 1964, Austin Galleries has become a trusted name in fine art sales and services. I have several of my items listed with Austin Galleries, available through www.austingalleries.com/heiko-weiner.

“Spirit Worlds (No. 7)”

Spirit Worlds No. 7 is part of a series of wall sculptures, and is one of my larger pieces with 36 x 36 x 1 in with a distinctive Southwestern style. I used various exotic and domestic hardwoods, such as zebrawood, picana, padauk, and mahogany. The various turquoise inlays and individual wood types are combined and organized by their grain orientation to achieve the desired view for the center design.

“A Bowl with no Name” - SOLD

While working on this vessel, I thought that not everything needs to have a name to become known to the world... I paid particular attention to the outer shape and tried to match it up with a nicely fitting, more modern pattern. Materials include various exotic and domestic hardwoods, the base is made of Honey Locus, the patterns contain Canadian Maple, Ebony, and Padauk, with some stabilized turquoise.

“Desert Steps”

This item is one out of three larger designs, all featuring some of my favorite southwestern styles, and various Native American designs. I did use Aniegre for the main body. It has a nice and even texture, is fairly dense, but not as heavy as other South American woods as Jatoba or most members of the Rosewood family. The center pattern consists of a continuous step pattern with interlinked segments.
